BACKGROUND

  • He is a seasoned professional in Finance & Accounting with over 33 years work experience with leading companies/groups in India & Bahrain
  • He is a semi qualified Chartered Accountant from ICAI. Naresh had his training from one of the leading firm A.F Ferguson & Company, Chartered Accountants, and  started his career as an  Internal auditor in “Oberoi Group “a leading chain of 5-star hotel and became Financial Controller for the Hotel before leaving after having worked for 10 years. He then joined Dadabhai Group, Bahrain in 1997 and went on to become Group Financial Controller for their Hotel division. He has worked in various star Hotels, Apartments and Car rental Division  of the Group by heading the Finance team for over 20 years.  His last assignment was in Fakhro Group ( Budget car Rental) as head of the Finance and Accounts.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • A Team Leader, carrying an efficient, strong accounting & finance team with over 30 members in various sections of the F& A department.
  • Expertise in drafting various internal control systems and procedures in the areas of operations and accounting with an aim to have transparency in all areas of reporting and operations.
  • Expert in handling and set up of new hotel projects from finance side and assisting the Project Manager in successful implementation of  the project on deadline. This includes setting up of accounting, IT Software & HRD systems. Naresh has successfully handled setting up of new Hotels and Car Rentals in Dadabhai Group which are Best Western Baisan Tower, Elite Suites, Elite Hotel, Hawar Resort Hotel  and Regent Rent a Car.
  • Expert in study of financial statements and advise Management on corrective action and involved in Decision making.
  • Member of various Committees which include, Purchase, Credit , HRD, Budget , IT, and Internal Audit.
  • In charge of Expert Teams for the process of  “take over” and “handing over” of management properties.
  • Expertise in raising finance facilities and negotiate best terms from banks and financial institutions for working capital as well as for new projects. Dealing with almost all banks in Bahrain including facilities under Tamkeen
  • Leading a team involved in defining organization structures and documentation of relevant policies and procedures manuals for functions based on the defined structure, including human resources, administration, procurement and operations for Hospitality /Car rental sector
  • Involved in developing and managing the functional requirements for enterprise-wide systems
  • Expertise in NBR regulations with regard to VAT.
  • Involved in the design of share-based compensation and other long-term incentive programs for entities in the financial services sector in Bahrain and the region
  • Expertise in feasibility studies and business plans for various clients coming up with new project.
